What Do You Recommend Regarding Hot Tubs & Small Children?

There are 3 important and basic safety issues to consider as a hot tub generally has 2 - 3 feet of water and it is, of course, at least warm.

  1. All high-quality spa covers from quality hot tub companies meet the 2003 Safety Performance Requirements of the ASTM F1346 - 91 Standards.  This means the cover has at least 4 clips to secure the cover in position and these clips can be locked to prevent access.  (Even in the unlocked position the clips will secure your cover in mild to moderate winds.)
  2. In 1987, both the Consumer Products Safety Commissionand Underwriters Laboratories(UL) wrote recommendations that consumer hot tubs not be allowed to be programmed to exceed 104o.  However even this temperature is too hot for small children.  When your small kids are in your hot tub with you, you should keep the temperature below 100o!
  3. Never....repeat NEVER leave children unattended in a hot tub or swim spa. Not even for a second! If you have to leave the tub, take your children out with you.

Why does Premiere Hot Tubs have an "e" on the end of Premiere?

Actually, its just historical coincidence! In February 2009, when Bill Meyer was considering names for his company, he found the domain name PremierHotTubs.com was owned by a "squatter" (a company who buys domain names simply to resell them).  Driving past Premiere Insurance on I35 one day, Bill had an idea! He researched PremiereHotTubs.com and discovered it was available so, he bought it and the rest...as they say...is history!

However, about a year later Bill discovered the company that had owned PremierHotTubs.com had not re-registered the name, so he purchased this domain too! But, by that time Premiere Hot Tubs was already well established and Bill decided not to change a good thing!
